This experimental film (cine-poem) draws its inspiration from the philosophical thoughts and poetic words of Antonin Artaud. The film interprets visually and “poetically” the manuscript that Artaud originally prepared as an address to the public, written for the installation and reception of his portraits and drawings at the Galerie Pierre, July 4-20, 1947. The film works as a pastiche of mediums, including super-8 film along with high-8 and digital video.
This was a very stylish composition. It is cultured and flows with an amazing focus that mirrors the images and narration as it proceeds from the concept into beyond post modern realms of expression. I will enjoy watching it again. This should be in a museum.
